Rig ni digunakan untuk drilling dan production of oil. Tinggi platform ni hampir sama dengan Eiffel Tower di Paris.

How long will the world's oil last? Soalan yang sering kali bermain di fikiran kita..Post aku yang lepas aku cakap minyak tak kan habis kan..kenapa? I will explain to you..

Dari perspektif seorang Petroleum Engineer, oil supplies in the ground won't last for ever..InsyaAllah..The oil fields already discovered by hold over 1 million million barrels of oil (1,000,000,000,000 bbl). (1 barrel = 158.9873 liter) . Although we are using oil quite quickly,  the reserves go up every year. U know why? because more oil is discovered and new ways are found of extracting oil that couldn't be got out before. Sebab pencarian minyak sangat-sangatlah rancak sekarang. Banyak company oil and gas sekarang berlumba-lumba untuk mencari minyak.

At the moment, the world uses about 26,000,000,000 barrels every year. At this rate, there should be enough oil for at least another 40 years. It is likely that more oil will be discovered in that time. Oil companies are always searching for new oil fields and there are still lots more deep sea areas to explore.

Petroleum engineering is a field of engineering concerned with the activities related to the production of hydrocarbons, which can be either crude oil or natural gas.

Senang cerita..petroleum engineering ni adalah satu bidang yang berkaitan dengan penghasilan minyak dan gas dari dalam tanah. Here is some history about PE. The Petroleum Engineering Profession got its start in 1914 within the American Institutes of Mining, Metallurgical and Petroleum Engineer (AIME). This is the First Petroleum Engineering degree was conferred in the year 1915 by university of Pittsburgh. Kalau di Malaysia course ni cuma ditawarkan di Universiti Teknologi Petronas, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, UCSI  dan Universiti Teknologi MARA (dikenali dengan Kejuruteraan Minyak dan Gas).
